Ishikawa National College of Technology (INCT) is a higher educational institution which accepts junior high school graduates for a five year program (associate bachelor's degree) or a seven year program (advanced course.) From early in the program and throughout, we provide a highly technical education in order to meet the demands in society for engineers with practical knowledge.
For this reason in the undergraduate program we instill in students imagination and a positive attitude so that they may be flexible enough to merge into an increasingly internationalized society. Furthermore, in our advanced courses we instill the specialized knowledge and technical skill needed for research and development by engineers. In addltion, the four school years from the fourth year, of the associate bachelor's course through the second year of the advanced program have been acknowledged as complying with the JABEE (Japan,Accreditation Board for Engineering Education) engineering education accreditation system's "General and Creative Engineering Program." This program aims to foster engineers who are capable of leading the way to advancements in technology.
We feel greatly responsible to work with and contribute to the local community. Utilizing INCT's educational and research resources, we incorporate local and cooperative community and environmental projects. Besides this we also engage in cooperative resear, technical training and consultation, and we positively concern ourselves with technology transfer to local industries. Thus we are contributing to the promotion of advancement in the local area and the industrial community. We believe it is of great significance to improve our research training and education in engineering and technology in order to improve solidarity with the region in which the school was founded.
INCT has over 6,000 alumni. Many of them, with knowledge cultivated here, are putting technology into practice at the forefront of society. After finishing the five-year associate bachelor's course students have the option to directly seek employment in the workforce or continue to study either in INCT's advanced program or at other national universities. The ratio between these twochoices is approximatery 50-50. As for students who choose to seek employment, we boast a 100% employment rate at both major and local enterprises.
The world will see great change in the 21st century. INCT will continue to grow to face these changes.
